Speedchain at Procore Groundbreak 2026

Procore Groundbreak brought builders, owners, and construction technology leaders together in Orlando from October 20th to 22nd, 2026. Speedchain joined as a Platinum sponsored booth on the show floor and a fireside chat alongside our partners at Mastercard.

The theme we heard again and again: construction has modernized how it plans and builds. Here's a look back at our week spent in Orlando.

Conversations at the Speedchain booth

The Speedchain team spent two days at the booth talking with attendees about their biggest spend management challenges. We heard similar problems from multiple angles; chasing down lost field receipts, rebuilding expense reports with best guesses at where and what was spent, and cases of fraud and questionable spending – topics we hear across the board at conferences, and

Visitors saw live demos of how Speedchain cards connect purchases to job and cost codes at the point of sale, and how the Speedchain AI Receipt Agent lets crews text a photo of a receipt instead of filling out an expense report.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by. Didn’t get a chance to visit the booth? Book a follow up demo here.

Speedchain and Mastercard sit down to discuss real-time spend control

Speedchain CEO Daniel Cage sat down with Scott Beauchamp, VP of SME Channel Distribution at Mastercard, to discuss why contractors need to see their teams’ spending in real time, and how that changes the data they work from and the decisions they make.

Daniel opened with a point every contractor in the room recognized. Project management, scheduling, and design have gone digital, but the payment workflow between the field and the finance team has not. That data lag between a purchase on the jobsite and the moment it's accounted for is where time, accuracy, and margin begin to fade, often undetected.

One contractor Daniel spoke with reviewed their field spend and found that 70% of transactions had to be recoded. Each of those is a receipt someone chased, a code someone fixed, and a job cost report that was out of date when it landed.

Scott explained how Mastercard's network changes that equation. Payments that move on card rails carry data that cash and checks never could, and when that data connects to project information, finance teams get visibility while the job is still running. The conversation closed with audience questions around onboarding to a modern card, where both speakers agreed that clean setup and an easy experience for the field decide whether any system succeeds.

Speedchain and Mastercard fireside chat: quotes and takeaways

Five lines from the session, and what they mean for construction finance leaders:

  • Payments are construction's last analog workflow. "Much of construction has been digitized, but the payments workflow connecting the field and the finance team has not been." – Daniel Cage

  • Margin is protected in real time, not at month-end. "If you're at the end of the month doing reconciliation… that's not visibility. That's history." – Scott Beauchamp

  • Every transaction is business intelligence. "There's not a lot of data wrapped around a dollar bill." – Scott Beauchamp

  • Field adoption drives data accuracy. "Taking a picture of a receipt and texting it… kills the expense report for the field operator." – Daniel Cage

  • Faster spend requires stronger controls. "Trust becomes even more important as speed increases." – Scott Beauchamp

Looking ahead

Construction companies are ready to adopt spend management tools that deliver real-time data visibility and easy card controls. Over the next year, Speedchain will continue building that infrastructure, connecting jobsites to the general ledger and helping companies protect margin.
